Stirring A Memory

This short series I created in Blaricum for my collaboration with Irmgard Geul and is inspired by her story and feelings about her hometown Blaricum. Although Irmgard will always have her roots in Blaricum, things have changed. She has not only developed and grown as a person over the years, from child to adult, but Blaricum, a village once noted as a Dutch artists’ colony has also developed further and changed. Coming back to her hometown will never be the same, buildings got replaced, years passed. She moved and there is no turning back to the Blaricum that still exist in her mind and is inextricably linked to her memories. These images are therefore dreamy and nostalgic, the roots of a tree, a boarded farmhouse, and leafs and layers of memories.
